About Me
Some of you know me, some of you may not. Either way I invite you to step into this journey with me. My name is Sadie Thompson. I'm 17 years old. From DFW, Texas. And I've been given a wonderful opportunity.
For a few years now, I have been very passionate about abolishing human trafficking. It is a disturbingly prominent issue in our world today but I believe complete abolition of slavery is possible.
I am also a very passionate artist. I've been drawing all my life, and professional for five years now. Drawing with pencil is my primary love, but I enjoy dabbling in all sorts of mediums; music, painting, pen, etc.

In January of 2018, I'll be heading to Toowoomba, Australia to take part in YWAM's Discipleship Training School. This school specifically focuses on these two
subjects: Arts and Mercy (justice training). After 3 months of training in Australia, I'll go to Cambodia with fellow students to minister, love on, and serve.
I am excited to be a piece of this beautiful adventure.

I'll be learning how to impact the people who have been affected by trafficking practically, spiritually and emotionally. As a team, all students will also be using learning how to use our art to advance God's kingdom and how being an artist and being the Church go hand and hand.

About YWAM
Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), they unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.

The ministry began in 1960 and is thriving today, hosting schools in over 180 countries, 1,100 with a staff of over 18,000.
​
Most schools have a Discipleship Training School (DTS), often with as specific theme/focus. The one I'll be going to is called Arts & Mercy. You can read more about it here.
After DTS, students go on outreach in various countries to apply what they've learned, make an impact, and spread gospel love. With my Arts & Mercy team, I'll go to Cambodia. Read more about outreach here.
